MoU on MLS Educational Platform Signed

On October 28, the signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the joint development of the MLS Educational Platform by Tianjin University, Bühler Group, Tecnológico de Monterrey and other institutions was held in Tianjin. Ming Dong, Vice President of Tianjin University, Holger Feldhege, Global Chief Operating Officer of Bühler Group, and Carlos Jesús Mercadillo Rojo, Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, signed the document on behalf of the three parties.

Ming Dong mentioned that Tianjin University has distinctive strengths in interdisciplinary fields between engineering and management. The joint development of the MLS Educational Platform is an important practice for the University in deepening the integration of industry and education and the integration of science and education. He hoped that all parties could jointly cultivate interdisciplinary talents, co-develop course cases, and promote faculty-student exchanges and applied research.

Holger Feldhege said that more than 30 years of corporate operations experience had convinced him that what determines a company's success is people, not equipment. In the face of the transformations brought by artificial intelligence and robotics, Bühler has chosen to proactively turn technology into education and extend its 160 years of talent development experience to its major production bases worldwide, making the platform a "lighthouse" for surrounding enterprises.

At the ceremony, representatives held in-depth exchanges on the platform's operating mechanisms, curriculum development, and faculty-student exchanges.

The MLS Educational Platform was jointly initiated by Tianjin University and Bühler Group and is co-built with universities and enterprises including Tecnológico de Monterrey. It is dedicated to creating an international industry-education integration platform for intelligent manufacturing and supply chains. Founded in 1860 and headquartered in Uzwil, Switzerland, Bühler Group is a leading global supplier of equipment and system solutions in food processing and advanced materials.

Irene Mark, Chief Human Resources Officer of Bühler Group; Connie He, President of Bühler Greater China; and heads of its headquarters and regional companies, as well as representatives from Birla Institute of Technology in India, attended online. Relevant officials and faculty representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and the College of Management and Economics participated in the event.
