Top Prize! TJU Shines at 19th National Energy & Emission Reduction Contest

At the 19th National College Students' Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Science & Technology Competition, Tianjin University (TJU) delivered an outstanding performance, ranking among the top universities in the country. TJU teams brought home one Grand Prize, seven First Prizes, three Second Prizes, and three Third Prizes. In addition to these main track victories, the university was honored with the Outstanding Organization Award, the Best Roadshow Award, as well as a Gold Award and a Silver Award in the Industry Track.

A defining feature of TJU’s participation this year was its strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration. The university fielded a total of 15 teams in the main track, and notably, every single team was an interdisciplinary group. The participating students represented over 20 diverse majors, including Energy and Power Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing, Intelligent Manufacturing, Materials Science, Mechanics, Automation, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Energy Storage, Chemical Engineering, and Precision Instruments.

In a concurrent highlight of the finals, the Top 100 Outstanding Undergraduate Theses (Designs) in Energy and Power Engineering nationwide were also announced. Zhang Feng, a member of TJU’s Class of 2026, was proudly selected for this prestigious national honor, further underscoring the university's excellence in cultivating top-tier talent in the energy sector.

Under the theme of "Energy Conservation, Green Energy," the competition specifically highlighted the vision of "Building an Energy Powerhouse, Creating a Smart Future." The main track attracted a massive 7,773 entries from 707 universities nationwide, with 320 teams advancing to the national finals. Ultimately, the competition awarded 16 Grand Prizes, 202 First Prizes, 314 Second Prizes, and 1,470 Third Prizes.
