A Night of Music and Youth: TJU Hosts Campus Singing Competition Final

On the evening of May 17, the final of the 19th Tianjin University Campus Singing Competition, themed Breaking Dawn, was held at the gymnasium on the Weijin Road Campus. The event brought together the competition's top 10 finalists for an exciting showcase of musical talent and youthful passion.

The finalists competed across three rounds, delivering performances that ranged from emotional ballads and acoustic sets to popular hits and traditional Chinese-inspired melodies. Their diverse musical styles captivated the audience and created an energetic atmosphere throughout the evening.

Guest performers included renowned young tenor Wang Jian and Liu Jia, former director of the Peiyang Choir. Their special appearances drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Following several rounds of competition, Ding Jie won the championship for her outstanding performance. Ouyang Shengyi and Chen Yan claimed second and third place, respectively, while Cheng Qile received the award for Most Popular Singer. All ten finalists were honored as the competition's "Top 10 Singers."

Nearly 200 students registered for this year's competition, which featured multiple stages including auditions, preliminary rounds, semifinals, and the final. More than 5,000 students attended the performances throughout the competition season.

As one of Tianjin University's signature campus cultural events, the Campus Singing Competition has become an important platform for students to pursue their musical interests, showcase their talents, and enrich campus culture. Tianjin University will continue to organize a variety of cultural and artistic activities to support students' holistic development and foster a vibrant campus community.
