On December 2, 2025, President Chai Liyuan led a delegation from Tianjin University (TJU) to visit CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC), where senior officials including CRRC Chairman and Party Secretary Sun Yongcai and Vice President Liu Ke'an took part in a wide-ranging discussion.

During the meeting, CRRC underscored its ambitions to accelerate the intelligent and green transformation of its rail-transportation equipment manufacturing — calling for advanced research and top-tier talent support from leading universities. Tianjin University, for its part, reaffirmed its long-standing mission of strengthening the nation through education and innovation, and positioned itself as ready to contribute its strengths in engineering, materials science, automation and related disciplines.
Both sides agree on exploring deep collaboration in core areas such as advanced rail-transport equipment, new materials, energy technology and smart manufacturing. The dialogue laid the groundwork for building a systematic cooperation framework covering joint research, shared platforms, result translation and co-training of talent for China’s high-end manufacturing sector.
At the meeting were representatives from relevant departments and schools at TJU, alongside CRRC’s divisions responsible for technology, quality control, strategic planning, digital development and human resources — ensuring both academic and industrial strengths aligned for future collaboration.
The visit marked a meaningful step for Tianjin University in aligning its academic and research strengths with industry innovation needs, supporting China’s broader drive toward modernization and high-technology manufacturing.
