Only 11 days until the 130th anniversary of Tianjin University! All TJU alumni from across Schools and around the globe are invited to join the celebration on October 2, 2025!
Which school or department are you from? Who and what inspired or impressed you most and how?
I'm a master's student in Landscape Architecture at Tianjin University and a UNESCO fellow.
I just attended the 2025 ICOMOS University Forum for Cultural Heritage in China. On the Forum, speakers from Indonesia to France to Nepal demonstrated that conservation needs are global, and so are the opportunities. China has made impressive strides in technology and policy.
The insights I gained—from interdisciplinary collaboration to tech-driven solutions—have not only boosted my confidence but also clarified my role as a future practitioner. I now see my studies as a bridge: the techniques I learn here at Tianjin University (e.g., digital modeling, community engagement frameworks) can be adapted to address global needs. The conference reminded me that landscape architecture is not just about design, it's about safeguarding stories, ecosystems, and identities for future generations. I leave this event inspired to apply global best practices locally, knowing that my work can make a meaningful difference.
appy 130th birthday, Tianjin University!
