On the afternoon of August 14, President Chai Liyuan of Tianjin University paid a visit to students who chose to remain on campus during the summer break, to better understand and support their academic and living conditions. The outreach was organized by the Party Office, the University Administration Office, and the Student Affairs Department, whose representatives accompanied the president during the visit.
The delegation first visited a laboratory within the School of Science, where President Chai engaged in warm conversations with students conducting research. He inquired in detail about their research topics and experimental progress.
President Chai encouraged students to maintain a rigorous approach to research, embrace innovation, and remain vigilant about lab safety. He also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continuously improve services and foster a supportive environment for both academic and daily life.
Subsequently, the group proceeded to the Student Community in the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, where they met with undergraduate students preparing for academic competitions and postgraduate entrance examinations.
Chai attentively asked about their preparation strategies and challenges. He offered tailored guidance, encouraging students to set clear goals, plan strategically, balance study with life, and stay connected with their families. He concluded the visit with warm wishes for their continued academic success.
