Undergraduate Admission
The undergraduate programs of TJU have a schooling system of 4 years, except that the architecture program requires 5 years. The programs are delivered in Chinese or in English. For programs taught in Chinese, the international applicants need to be skilled at Chinese language, the proficiency of which is evidenced by the certificate of HSK band 5 or above. For Programs taught in English, the international applicants need to be skilled at English language, the proficiency of which is evidenced by the certificate

Foundation Program
The foundation program at TJU is designed for students who plan to pursue science and engineering for further study, as the aim of foundation program is to arm students with a systematic study of general Chinese, technical Chinese, mathematics, physics and chemistry and help students proceed to degree programs of various disciplines at TJU or other renowned higher education institutions.

The Chinese Language Program of Tianjin University offers Chinese language courses of eight levels covering beginners and advanced learners. The curriculum of the program includes Speaking, Listening, Reading, Comprehensive Chinese, etc.

An international student wishing to study the undergraduate/graduate courses at Tianjin University for one month/semester/year but not for a degree may be recruited as a General Visiting Student.
